Licensed Vocational Nurse
What they do
- Read vital signs, such as pulse, temperature, blood pressure, and respiration.
- Administer injections and enemas.
- Monitor catheters and give massages or alcohol rubs.
- Apply dressings, hot water bottles & ice packs.
- Help patients bathe, dress, treat bedsores, empty bedpans and changing soiled bed sheets.
- May feed patients & record food consumption, which monitoring the fluids they take in and excrete.
- Watching patients closely and report any signs of treatment complications or adverse medication reactions.
- Collect samples for testing.
- Help superiors perform advanced medical procedures and complete routine tests by themselves.
- Tend to patient's comfort, personal hygiene & emotional needs.
Qualifications
- - vocational nursing training program.
- License required.
- Professional certification.
