Plan route with detail using navigation technology or an old fashioned atlas. Include rest stops, gas stops, and stops to contact the dispatcher.
Keep logs of trip, and keep pick-up and carry paper records of the shipments in the event of an inspection by the D.O.T (Department Of Transportation).
Supervise the loading of the goods to ensure that they will not be damaged on the road.
Follow all rules and regulations of the road and maintain a defensive driving mindset to uphold the reputation of company and to ensure the safety of everyone on the road.
Qualifications
Proof of high school degree or other equivalent.
Must have Class A, CDL, or commercial drivers license.
